What type of audio equipment do I need for a small presentation?
Generally to amplify one person’s voice to a small group of audience, you will need a wireless microphone and either a single or pair of powered speakers depending on the size of audience. If you have more than one microphone is needed you will also need a mixer. We carry various range of mixer for as small as 4 channel to large concert performance up to 32 channel.
What’s the difference between handheld and lavalier microphones?
Handheld microphones are made to be held in your hand or placed in a microphone stand. Lavaliere microphones are smaller and can be clipped to your jacket or shirt. We always encourage to use handheld microphone to prevent feedback from the speakers. Depending on the size of venue, some might only able to use a handheld microphone.
What’s the difference between wireless and wired microphones?
A wireless microphone has no wires connecting it to the other sound equipment, allowing for more freedom of movement. A wired microphone plugs directly into the mixer or speakers. The price of wireless microphone will be higher depending on the frequency range. Let us know your usage and we can always advise accordingly.
Do I need a mixer?
If you need to amplify the sound from more than one source and if you require to plug in different type of input such as RCA cable, Aux Cable or instrument cable. A mixer allows you to control the sound levels of different audio inputs.

1)Why have a Live Band for weddings?
Having a live band for weddings not only provides the appropriate ambience on your special day, but it also entertains your wedding guests, ensuring that the atmosphere at your wedding reception is always lively. Ivan & Levine also provides a degree of flexibility as we accept dedications and song requests from you and your wedding guests. Our wedding singers would be more than happy to work through the song list with you, to make your wedding as memorable as it can be.
2)What does a typical live band for wedding involve?
We have different programmes for different types of wedding receptions and arrangements. The more common wedding arrangements and our respective performance programmes are summarized below. However, you are free to make different arrangements and requests, and Ivan & Levine will do our best to accommodate to those requests.
Solemnization Ceremony
Performance includes:
- Light music as guests start arriving (approx. 15 mins)
- March-in and signing of certificates
- March-out
- Post-ceremony: photo-taking session, guests having light refreshments, etc. (approx. 15 mins)
Cocktail Reception
Performance includes:
- Music as guests are arriving for the wedding lunch/dinner (approx. 25 mins)
Wedding Dinner / Lunch
- Music for 1st March-in
- Commencement of lunch/dinner (45 minutes)
- Music for 2nd March-in
- Lunch/dinner resumes (45 minutes)
3)Can I have the price list for the live music performance?

4)What instruments do the musicians play?
We offer keyboard, guitar, bass, cajon, drum, violin and saxophone, erhu, pipa, gu zheng and double bass.
5)Can I choose my preferred singer?
Yes, you can but singers are subject to availability.
6What combination of instruments to choose for?
Base on your preference. you could choose the number of musicians and will arrange from our side.
7)Can I choose the song to be played by the band?
Yes, you could give us a list of your preferred song.
8)How do I make a booking?
You can do so simply by email or call us. 100 dollar deposit is required for down payment
deposit payable by cheque, cash, internet banking or fund transfer.
9)Procedure of engaging Ivan & Levine Entertainment?
1)Contact us for any doubt and enquiries (e.g Price) and provide us the details of performance (e.g wedding or events).
2)We will look into it and get back to you in 1 working day (usually immediately).
3)Once confirmed, you could book us by paying a 50% down payment via bank transfer. Alternatively, a meet up is possible
4)You could provide us your choice of songs if any. Do link us up with your any person in charge for your celebration and we will do the necessary arrangement at date nearer to the celebration.
5)On the actual day, We will arrive for sound check for your preferred time
10)Can we arrange for a meet up before placing a deposit?
Yes, certainly.
11)Any refund policy?
There will be no refund.
12)How do I make the remaining payment?
You could pay the rest by cash or cheque on the actual day
13)Are your musicians professional?
Our musicians have performed for many years and have performed in many places such as wedding, bar and even live broadcast on TV and FM.
Wedding Performances
Can the band sing my march-in songs
Yes, you just have to decide for the song and we will arrange for you.
What time will the band arrive on the day?
For lunch celebration We will arrive at 11.00 a.m for soundcheck. Dinner celebration will be 6 p.m for soundcheck.
Do we use hotel's inbuilt sound system?
Some hotels do provide decent in house sound system. We are able to liaise with the management to get further details. However, the sound system from various hotel are mostly for music playback and are not suitable for live band performances. You can engage us for sound system package, it will be set up by external parties but we do not profit for being the middle man.

Do Ivan & Levine perform for charity (volunteer)?
Yes we do, Please provide us the detail (e.g. Organisation).
What Kind of event do you perform for?
Live band for events are also not confined to just Dinner and Dance gala events. The events we do (but are not limited to) also include:

- Corporate advertising events (to engage crowds for example)
- Parties and company celebrations
